Studio Makeover Reveal! & Boudoir Photoshoot

Holy cow, has this been a long time coming! If you’ve been following along on socials you may have heard a while ago, but my studio just got a fresh makeover that I am properly obsessed with. This took months of planning and figuring out what direction I wanted to go in, which admittedly was the hardest part for me. I love so many different looks and styles, but I had to find something that I loved, and that I knew would last. Something that was different than what I was seeing anywhere else, something that would excite me and bring new creative energy to my boudoir sessions. Once I finally came up with some keywords, it became so much clearer, and I hit the thrift stores! (Fun fact: 99% of my studio furniture and decor is thrifted/upcycled!)

I know my Muses and I both loved having a lighter side of the room and a moodier side. I wanted to keep this at the core of styling, so I looked for ways to freshen it up. One big thing you might notice about the studio, is that we said goodbye to the floral wallpaper. She was beloved by all, but after 3 years (and a couple years before me,) was looking a little rough, and it was time for something new. So I traded out the wallpaper for paint, and some moulding, and I think it’s so much better. Before I say any more, you have to see this room. TA-DA!!!

With the help of some very gracious friends who donated their entire weekend to this, we got this entire reno done in one weekend! At least the painting, moulding, and decorating. I also hand painted the new dresser in here, which was also my first ever furniture flip. There were actually a ton of “firsts” for me in this makeover, which was a bit overwhelming, so I’m incredibly thankful for my friends and family who helped me do it and encouraged me that I was making good decisions (sometimes you just need reassurance!)

My vision for both sides was something that felt more lived in, something with more visual interest and furniture to interact with. I also felt a bit of a disconnect between the two sides of the room before, but I think this time they’re feeling a lot more cohesive, while still giving you a variety of looks!

After nearly having to give up the studio, I’ve really been wanting to make it worth it, and this makeover has me feeling so energize, inspired and determined! Obviously, I had to try it out right away, so I got together with model & makeup artist Madison and got to work! Check out some of my favorites from our boudoir photoshoot together.

The bedroom set has me on cloud 9 — I’m swooning, I’m dreaming, I’m floating away. But seriously, this is everything I always wanted for the light and airy set in the studio. When you step into this area, I want to inspire softness, femininity, and dreamy vibes.

The green wall is giving this sophisticated, bold, and sensual vibe that I am loving!! And contrasted with the pink robe — I SIMPLY CANNOT. It really has this french, luxurious look that was exactly what I wanted. Something that looked fine art, and detailed. Of course there’s more I want to add to the space, but at this point, I’m over the moon!

I hope you’re feeling as inspired by the new space as I am!! I would love to create with you here, and give you unforgettable memories with photos to cherish. Curious about what booking a boudoir session would look like? Let’s hop on a phone call together and chat about it! I’ll give you all the info you need, and even more encouragement. I can’t wait to show you that you are a work of art.
